Finally
after flying all day, we were at Dublin about five/six o’clock. The airport was
small and clear and we got our bags pretty quickly. Trough information desk we
found out that there was a free bus transportation to all who were staying at
the Maldron airport Hotel, meaning me and Mira.
We decided to make the most of our time in Dublin, because on Tuesday we would have to hop on to a bus towards our final destination: City of Derry.
So, although I could have stayed at the Hotel the whole night (sleeping), I was glad Mira was feeling more enthusiastic. She had a great idea in her mind: "Lets go to downtown!"
We tried to plan our way to get to the city centre of Dublin as well as possible, (For example researching tourist map, bus schedules, asking help from the receptionist) but in the end we just stood in front of a bus station and waited for a decent looking one to arrive.
Our night in Dublin wasn't exactly glamorous. It's was filled with tiny obstacles but it sure was fun as... Heck! We got off at some random station. (at a place were there weren't so much trees and detached houses) There were big buildings, peculiar shops (all closed though, because it was already about nine o'clock in the evening.) pubs and exotic restaurants. Our main mission was to find cheap but filling food. So we walked and walked, we filmed with my camcorder, admired scenery, I ogled the first real Irish ginger we saw, we laughed and with our empty stomachs we walked some more.
In the end we wound up eating some Chinese food (yay, our first meal in Ireland.) Although our stomachs were now full, we were too tired and actually too lost to walk. But all well that ends well, we asked help from Maldron hotel and they told us where the nearest bus station is and that what bus would take us back to the Maldron airport hotel.
You can just imagine how insane my English blabbering sounded like at the Maldron hotel: "Umm, hello. Evening. We are staying at the Maldron hotel. But not at this one, we are looking for it... Huh, oh yes the airport one. Thanks." and so on.
Next up some blurry pictures of Dublin ('cos the pictures are screenshots of videos)
